PROGRAM 01 : YUNNAN MOTORCYCLE TOUR FOR 16 DAYS :

Yunnan, the land of eternal spring, is various in relief and landscape and rich in human cultures. The most attractives for the culture exploration in Yunnan have been listed as the World Culture & Nature Heritage by UNESCO, such as Naxi Museum of the pictograph characters , 3 rivers flows paralleled and Naxi Ancient Concert performance , etc .
Most of territory is mountainous and an high average altitude, 3 rivers : The Yangtze , Mekong and Salween Rivers, still in its infancy here, passes through the Gorge with cliffs of almost 4,000 meters on either side . This land is home to many different minorities (25) and living sample of human being , some of them have old, brilliant civilization.
The written history can be dated back more than 2000 years . That is why so many historical relics remained here and there .
It is the paradise of motorcycle riding because of the spring -like weather and mountainous area (accounts for 84% of the territory ) . The average riding is about 4 or 5 hours per day based on the speed of 50 kilometers / an hour . Enjoy the scenery and villages by riding !

Day 01 : Hekou/Kaiyuan (204 km.)Cross the border from Lao Cai of Vietnam to Hekou in China at Lunch time . Drive along the Red River (Honghe) to Kaiyuan on the paved road (part of the road about 55 km. is on the construction) . Night in Diannan hotel 3* .
Road view : yellow water in the Honghe river flowing sharply . Stop at Mengzi (157 km.) on the way to visit Bisezhai railway station at Mengzi to experience the French railway which is made a century ago , narrow gage . It was busy 20 years ago for the passengers carrying as well as the goods shipping . Now there is no regular train but kinds of shuttle train among the cities for local resident . There are many French buildings left from the colony period around the Lake Nanhu .
Road condition : part of the road about 55 km. is on the construction . Traffic : busy .

Day 02 : Kaiyuan/Stone Forest /Kunming (210 km.)Driving on the old to Kunming on paved road via Mile , Shilin , Yulian . Night in Camellia hotel 2* for 2 nights .
Road view : paddy fields with crops . Stop at Shilin for Stone Forest visiting on the way (110 km.) . Stone forest , the number one spectacle in China by the nature , which was under the water 270 million years ago and with shifts in the earth`s crust the sea receded to make a new tableland while its limestone bed rose up , full up stone pillars .
Road condition : all paved road on old road . There is a new highway for most traffic . Traffic : not busy .

Day 03 : KunmingKunming ( Spring City ) 1896 m, the capital of Yunnan Province , the gate of China to South East Asia . The trade to Burma , Thailand and Vietnam is very flourishing . As its climate is nice all over the year , Kunming is also famous for is various of flowers . City tour : visit the Bamboo Buddhist Temple (18 km.) with 500 Arhat statues which were build in Qing Dynasty (280 years ago). 25 minority nationalities scatter and live in Yunnan . The numerous ethnic groups with the peculiar residential architecture have attracted the visitors . That is why the Yunnan Ethnic Villages have been set up near the Lake Dianchi for visitors . We will spend 3 hours to get the knowledge of the cultures , customs and the natural village houses of the 25 nationalities in Yunnan Ethnic Villages .

Day 04 : Kunming / Yuanmou (207 km.)Continuation for riding to Yuanmou on paved road , via Fuming , Luqian , Wuding . Night in Yuanmou hotel 2* .
Road view : paddy fields with crops , villages and forest . Upon arrival , visit the Earth Mound Forest , mysterious and magnificent wonderland . The visitors loitering among the earth mounds are just like people touring in a wonderland . The main spectacles include view of castles of ancient Greece ; cathedrals of ancient Rome ; temples of ancient China , etc.
Road condition : all paved road on old road . Traffic : not busy.

Day 05 : Yuanmou / Huaping (214 km.)Road to Huaping on paved road , via Yongren , Renhe (Sichuan province ,123 km.) , Pangzhihua (Sichuan) , then to Huaping (Yunnan) . Night in local hotel 2* .
Road view : paddy fields with crops , villages and forest . Riding along the Yangtze River valley about 30 km.
Road condition : all paved road on old road . Traffic : busy .

Day 06 :Huanping / Lijiang (203 km.)Road to Lijiang on paved road , via Yongsheng (125 km.) . This afternoon a walking visit will be made to the beautiful old town of Lijiang, located at an altitude of almost 8,000 feet and a UN World Heritage Site. The old part of the town has wonderful old cobbled streets, meandering streams and views that will take your breath away. The ancient town of Lijiang, a lovely Chinese traditional town . Naxi classical concert in the evening . Night in Sanhe Guest Inn3* in the old town of Lijiang for 2 nights .
Road condition : all paved road on old road . Traffic : not busy .

Day 07 :LijiangLocal tour in Lijiang : visit a traditional Naxi Village Baisha , where life has gone relatively unchanged for hundreds of years. Black Dragon Pool, where the snow-capped mountains seemingly shimmer as they are reflected in the waters of the lake and a Tibetan lamastery Yufeng are also on the agenda. This afternoon has been left free for further independent exploration of the old town .

Day 08 : Lijiang/Tiger Leaping Gorge (106 + 23 km.) Lijiang/Qiaotou (83 km. ) 9 km.up hills sharply and 24 km. down the hills to the Yangtze River ( Golden Sand River ) . Riding 20 km. along the Yangtze river to the Qiaotou . Tiger Leaping Gorge is in the countryside north of Lijiang where the scenery is stunning .The Yangtze River, still in its infancy here, passes through the Gorge with cliffs of almost 4,000 metres on either side.
Qiaotou /Tiger Leaping Gorge / Middle Gorge /Heitaoyuan ( 23 km. ) Riding in the Gorge along with the river between two Mountains : Jade Dragon and Haba . All roads are paved . Visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge which is descending through more than 400 steps down to the river bed to the gorge . Continuation to the Hetaoyuan by the motorcycle about 10 km. Night in Woody House ( there are only 6 rooms with the bathroom for 12 people , the others have to go the public for the shower ) .

Day 09 :Tiger Leaping Gorge / Dali (223 km.) Riding on the old road to Dali , via Jianchuan (110 km.) , Night in Landscape hotel 3* in Dali Old Town for 2 nights .
Dali is located beside the beautiful Erhai lake, used to be the capital of Nanzhao and Dali kingdom, two strong and independent dynasties lasting from 725 till 1360 AC, their territory include all actual Yunnan and some period even spread to Guangxi. The dominant minority is Bai people, young girls’ traditional dress is beautiful, specially the hat is very catching eyes.
Road view : crops on the high mountain , villages and forest . Visit the one of oldest Bai village Zhouchen to see the traditional Bai handy-craft : tie-dying on the cloth on the way .

Day 10 : DaliSightsee in Dali : visit 3-pagodaes , the symbol of Dali , set up a thousand years ago in Nanzhao Kingdom .Xizhou Bai village with its market and Bai family visit to see the unique house . Tour on the Erhai Lake by cruise and the islands in the lake , the second largest fresh water lake in Yunnan , 250 square km.

Day 11 : Dali /Zhernyuan (223 km.)Road to Weishan (53 km.) , visit Taoist temples – Weibaoshan , the original birthplace for the Taoist in Yunnan . Winding up through the steps , 7 temples connected along the steps . 2 hours trekking up and down . Visit the old town of Nanzhao and Dali kingdown (937 a.c.), which was the first capital during the Nanzhao period before it moved to Dali .
Road to Zhenyuan via Nanjiang (40 km.Yi people) , ,Jingdong (130 km. Yi people)and Zhenyuan (53 km.) . Today we will drive along the Tea & Horse Road in the Wulian mountain . It war started from Han dynasty (nearly 2 thousand years ago ) , got to flourished in Tang Dynasty (a thousand years ago ) , ended after the Second World War when the highway is built . The road starts from Pu`er in Simao and ends in India via Tibet . People exchanged the tea from Yunnan with the horse and herb from Tibet . It can be compared with the Silk Road since it was the only road in South-west China .
Zhenyuan , Hani and Lahu people Autonomy County , is a important station for the horsemen and horse in the history . Visit will be made to the tea –tree- king , which is 3000 years old . Night in Zhenyuan hotel 2* .

Day 12 : Zhenyuan/ Jinggu / Shuangjiang ( 236 km.)Road to Shuangjiang (125 km.) , the Lahu people (Kucong in Jinping) area , via Jinggu (121 km.) ,. Crossing the Mekong river at Dahai . Visit a village Jiefang , the Lahu people . Night in Shuangjiang hotel 2*. Night in Shuangjiang hotel 2* .
Road view : crops on the high mountain valley , especially at the bridge on Mekong river . Visit a village Jiefang , the Lahu people .
Road condition : some paved and some are not , good view but narrow mountain road . Traffic : not busy .

Day 13 : Shuangjiang / Ximen ( 154 km.)Road to Ximeng new town , the Wa area (154 km.) . Driving along the branch of Mekong –Xiao Heijiang (black river ) . Today the road is not far but bumpy on the unpaved road . Continue drive towards the Border of Burma at Yuesong Wa village (16 km. from the old town) on the unpaved road to see the real Wa people life , near the Armed Police Frontier Station . Return back to the old town of Ximeng . Night in the guest house .
Road condition : all unpaved road , rocky and bumpy . with good view but on narrow mountain road . Traffic : not busy .

Day 14 : Ximen / Menghai (235 km.)Road to Lancang (110 km.) . Continue driving to along the river Nanlanhe Road to Menghai (125 km.) . One of the town of Xishuangbanna , borders Burma and Laos , is a sub-tropical area . The main people here is Dai , Hani , Bulang and Yao . Rich in primitive forest , it is renowned in the world as Kingdom of animals and plants . Visit Octagonal Pavilion of Dai , the symbol for the Buddhism . Visit the Aini village (the branch of Hani) to discovery the testing marriage : pregnant before getting marry . Night in Menghai hotel 2* .
Road condition : all unpaved road , rocky and bumpy . with good view but on narrow mountain road . Traffic : not busy .

Day 15 : Jinghong /Menglun(127 km.)Drive to Jinghong (53 km.) , the capital of Xishuangbanna , on the old road . Go through the city , continuation riding along the Mekong river to Ganlanba (38 km.) through the forest and Dai villages ,enjoy the nice paddy field dotted with a lot of traditional Dai villages, explore the very undecorated life of these pristine and hospitable farmers. Visit Dai Custom Garden with Dai performance show and Water splashing . Transfer to Menglun Botanic garden (34 km.). Visit the garden full of tropical plans . Night in Menglun heotel 2*.
Road condition : first part is good and smooth along the river , the next one is on the construction .
Road view : Mekong river , rubber tree , forest , Dai villages .

Day 16 :Departure from China to Laos (120 km.)Ride from Menglun to Mohan border (120 km.) , cross the border to Banboten in Laos (trip finished in China section ) . Road condition : busy road compared with before ; most of the road is in the construction . Riders must be careful and slow in this part .

PROGRAM 02 : HEKOU / YUANYANG / SIMAO / XISHUANGBANNA

Day 1 : Hokou / YuanyangCross the border from Lao Cai of Vietnam to Hekou in China at Lunch time . Drive along the Red River (Honghe) to the old town of Yuanyang about 187 km. on the paved road (part of the road about 55 km. is on the construction) . Night in Yunti hotel 3* in the old town . Road view : yellow water in the river flowing sharply , Hani , Yi villages .

Day 2 : Yuanyang areaYuanyang is famous for its rice terraces . The best season to see the terraces is in late winter and spring (from Dec. to Apr.) because it is full of water in the paddy . The mainly local resident is Hani and Yi minority people . Drive 20 km. to see the terraces in Laohuzhui and a village market , where you will see the different minority nationalities in full dress of their own for the market . (there is a market everyday but in different village . Where will be the market day depends on the Chinese 12 animals such as Rat , Cow , Tiger …ect.) . Night in Yunti hotel 3* .

Day 3 : Yuanyang / DaheishanRide from the old town Yuanyang to Daheishan town about 213 km. on paved country road , via Pangzhihua / Huangmaolin / Laomeng / Huangcaolin / Luchun city / Niukong . Night in the guest house in Daheishan . Road condition : not many traffic because it is not the main highway for the district . It is narrow about 7 to 10 meters wide , lots of curves but smooth . Road view : forest and minority villages .

Day 4 : Daheishan / SimaoDrive from Daheishan to Simao city about 183 km. . via Jiahe / Jiangchen city / Kanping / then to Simao . Simao is the capital of Simao area populated around 300.000 . Road condition : most of the road is paved in the countryside , only 13 km. from Daheishan to Jiahe is unpaved , mud and sand . In the raining season (Jun , Jul and Aug.) , two sections are muddy and wet because the rain washed the earth from the mountain to the road . It is smooth but sharp curves from Jiangchen to Simao about 108 km.
Check in Jingfeng hotel 3* . After dinner , drive to a hill called View Platform to see the tea plantation and night view of the city . Road view : forest and minority villages .

Day 5: Simao / Jinghong Ride from Simao to Jinghong about 168 km. , the capital of Xishuangbanna , which the main people there is Dai who has very similar costume and language with Thailand . Visit the Wild Elephant valley on the way . Road condition : there is a new free way from Simao to Jinghong about 130 km. What we drive on is the old road , less traffic , bumpy but cool . Road view : primitive forest in the tropical rain area . Night in Crown hotel (Huangguan) 3* .Day 6 : Jinghong / MenglunRide to Ganlanba along the Mekong river about 40 km. to visit the Dai village with their market , performance dancing show . Afterwards continue drive to Botanic garden in Menglun 43 km. Visit the garden with the tropical plants which some species are growing only in that area . Night in the guest house 2 * . PROGRAM 03 : KUNMING / CHUXIONG /DALI / LIJIANG /TIGER LEAPING GORGER ( 13 DAYS )

Yunnan is a province located at an altitude of almost 8,000 with mountainous and hills area covered almost 86% of the territory , as well as the minority nationalities accounts for a third of population . Riding from Kunming to the Tiger Leaping Gorge , which cycles about 785 km. lasting 21 days , will go through up and down hills ; minority villages resided mainly the Han , Yi , Bai , Naxi and Lishu people , which life has gone relatively unchanged for hundreds of years ; paddy fields where the scenery is stunning . Most of the riding is under the shadow of the trees .

Day 01 :Arrival of Kunming ,
Arrival at Kunming ( Spring City ) 1896 m, the capital of Yunnan Province , the gate of China to South East Asia . The trade to Burma , Thailand and Vietnam is very flourishing . As its climate is nice all over the year , Kunming is also famous for is various of flowers .

Day 02: Kunming/Annin/Chuxiong (199 km.)
Start riding from Kunming along the old road of Burma which is paved , passing Caopu ,Lubiao ,Tuguan and Yaozhan .Stop at Yanglaoshaopo on the way , shooting photo the scenery of villages far below down the hill .
Lufeng/Yipinglan/Chuxiong (86km )Riding on the one way along a small river passing 3 tunnels . Night in Xiongbao hotel***.

Day 03:Chuxiong/Nanhua/Binchuan ( 223 km. )
Generally speaking , today is easy , except 2 km. road near Shaqiao is bumpy because of the heavy trucks made. Chuxiong/Nanhua/ Shaqiao( 65 km. )/ Pupeng /Xiazhuang ( 67 km. ) there are 8 km. up hill , then all the way down to the flat basin . Xiazhuang/Xiangyun/Qiaodian/Binchuan ( 91 km. ) most of the road is smooth and new .
It is enjoyable day for the scenery of paddy fields , fish pond and plants .

Day 04: Binchuan / Haidong (151 km.)
Ride to the Jizhu Mount (47 km. uphill and 47 km. down). for visiting the one of most famous Buddhism temple—Zhusheng .Binchuan/Haidong (57 km.) in Yunnan province . Today is a little difficult : up and down the hills , then 11 km. on the cobbled and bumpy road to the Lake Erhai , the second largest fresh water lake in Yunnan about 230 square kilometers .Compensation is the nice view of the layers of color on the mountains with villages and forests .It`s pleasant to take a walk on the beach of the lake before or after the dinner .Night in Haidong resort hotel**.

Day 05:Haidong/Xiaguan/Dali old town (57 km. )
It`s an easy day for riding : driving around the east part of the Lake Erhai to get to the other side of lake , passing through the new town Xiaguan , reaching the old town . Eryuan/Niujie/Jianchuan (66 km.)Niujie is a kind of a town with the market every day .Be careful when ride goes through the crow .The road becomes curving and sharp from 29 km.till arriving at the town Jianchuan . Jianchuan/Lijiang (80 km. ) there are 12 km. Up hill , sloping and curving sharply .

Day 08 : Xingping/Yuxi/Kunming (199 km.)
Riding back to Kunming on the old road which is paved . Because there is a new free highway , most of the vehicles go on it . So today the riding would be pleasant and enjoyable . Check in Camellia hotel 2* .

Day 09 : Departure of Kunming
Free in the morning till transfer to the airport for departure
